Overview:

The Facilities Site Manager oversees contractor execution of decommissioning/remediation activities and is a member of a multi-functional decommissioning team that provides on-shore facility decommissioning and remediation support to Environmental Management Company (EMC) Project Managers, Business Partners and San Joaquin Valley Business Unit (SJVBU) stakeholders by using the area facility decommissioning/Remediation methodologies. Work locations will include Thembler Thermal Area, West Central California, and Kern River field locations.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Supervision of complex, multi-faceted decommissioning or environmental remediation projects.

  • Oversee field activities ensuring eyes-on-work immediately prior and during high risk tasks.

  • Review and accept field implementation/technical work plans, methods, tools and resources.

  • Ensure that managing safe work processes and OE requirements are met.

  • Verify and validate that business partner critical safeguards are in place and fit-for-purpose.

  • Review daily operational reports for accuracy and approves daily work tickets.

  • Promote process improvement opportunities.

  • Incident free and efficient execution of work in the field.

  • Field execution plans, including methods, tools and staffing.

  • Execution of work per the plan.

  • Critical safeguard verification and validation.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 10 years Facility decommissioning experience and/or remediation experience.

  • Special consideration will be given to candidates with specific knowledge of California environmental, health and safety regulations.

  • Requires driving on a routine basis and a valid driver’s license

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
