Chevron Corporation HES Specialist - Air Permitting & Compliance in Bakersfield, California
Chevron is accepting online applications for the HES Specialist – Air Permitting & Compliance position through December 16, 2019 at 11:59p.m. (Pacific Standard Time).
This position leads or supports air permitting and compliance activities in conjunction with other Chevron HES specialists and internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, facilities engineering).
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Preparing Title V and other permit/variance applications for the local air pollution control district (APCD);
Managing Emissions Reduction Credit (ERC) banking.
Tracking air and greenhouse gas (GHG) regulatory developments; assessing proposed regulations for business impact; determining applicability of regulatory requirements; developing/executing compliance plans for new/modified requirements; and communicating requirements to key stakeholders.
Working with air/GHG databases, performing calculations, and preparing reports for regulatory agencies. The individual also may lead or participate in advocacy efforts on proposed air/GHG regulations (e.g., methane) and review existing Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) and emissions source testing programs. The individual must establish and maintain strong working relationships with regulatory agencies (California Air Resources Board, APCD, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency), industry partners, trade associations (e.g., AWMA), and internal stakeholders."
This position will require approximately 10% travel time.
Bachelor’s degree in HES or related science-engineering discipline OR three years of relevant industry experience.
Air permitting regulation experience
Technical savvy with Microsoft Excel and otherwise desired.
Organizational Ability. Able to maintain all program documents including permit applications, analytical data, records, and electronic files in good order.
Minimum of three years of air experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
