Chevron Corporation Data Analyst in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Chevron’s Business Support Center (BASSC), located in Buenos Aires is accepting applications for the position of Data Analyst. Successful candidates will join the IT organization which is part of a multifunction service center with a workforce of more than 1300 employees that deliver business services and solutions to the corporation across the globe.

Data Analyst are responsible for gathering, analyzing and solving problems related to data, types of data, and relationships among data elements within a business or IT system and with business domain subject matter expertise. They provide direction on how business workflows map to data, and how data can be integrated to build reusable data products.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Understand business use of data and stakeholders’ requirements to support work processes and key business objectives. Provide data management direction and support for data foundation initiatives and data product development

  • Analyze current state of data management: Processes, practices and tools. Help shape future needs.  Contribute to the design of common data models

  • Assess data quality concerns specific to workflow solutions being adopted and drive mitigation activities

  • Maintain and share knowledge of requirements, data types and definitions, data stores, data creation process

Required Qualifications:

  • Big data computing, data acquisition, wrangling and preparation, business process and data modeling, data strategy, policies, and governance

  • Understanding of software engineering principles using technologies such as: Azure Data Factory, Databricks, DevOps, Azure Synapse

  • SQL - Ability to understand or write complex queries

  • Power BI

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and/or experience using Python
