Chevron Corporation IT Auditor in Buenos Aires, Argentina

The Chevron Business Support Center (BASSC), located in Buenos Aires (Puerto Madero), Argentina, is accepting online applications for the position IT Auditor. Successful candidates will join the BASSC Audit Team which is part of a successful multifunction service center with a workforce of more than 7 00 employees delivering business services and solutions across the globe.

Organization and team overview

The Corporate Audit department provides Chevron Worldwide assurance and advisory services with focus on enterprise and high-risk exposures. Supports new businesses, system implementations and change management and contributes to enterprise-wide talent development. The IT Audit team has global presence in Houston (Texas, USA), San Ramon (California, USA), Manila (Philippines) and Buenos Aires (Argentina).

An IT auditor either leads or assist during technology related audits that focuses on review, assess, report and recommend improvements to the IT systems and controls of the company to ensure Chevron Assets and information are adequately protected. The IT auditor also gets exposure to a wide variety of IT Systems, Products and Chevron Operations which enables the increase of their knowledge and competency in multiple technology, process and business areas throughout the execution of the audits.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Provides IT & operational risk-based assurance, advice and insight to help Chevron's businesses.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of IT controls, risk management and governance processes across a wide variety of IT Platforms, Product Lines and Business Unit operations.

  • Occasionally conducts management testing of SOX controls in support of Audit's centralized SOX COE.

  • Applies technical and digital skills to analyze systems & data and distill key findings.

  • Performs advance planning for audits, identifying risks and resource needs.

  • Effectively participates in meetings with diverse audiences to explain the audit process, resolve complex audit issues and confirm understanding of findings.

  • Fosters professional relationships with business partners, including management.

  • After first year, leads audits of moderate complexity and coaches less experienced co-workers in audit tools and techniques.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology/Systems, or equivalent work experience.

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in IT positions in areas like Application Engineering, Software Engineering, IT Infrastructure and Cloud, IT Security or Network.

  • English language proficiency: intermediate-upper level.

  • Extensive experience with Enterprise level implementation of IT systems and processes

  • Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate clearly, concisely and compellingly.

  • Emerging technology awareness.

  • Skilled at Analytical thinking, data analysis and reporting with great attention to detail

  • Skilled at Risks assessment, identification, control and reporting for IT processes.

  • Skilled at Facilitation, Communication and Engagement with technical, non-technical and management audiences.

  • Skilled at technical documentation and management level reporting

  • Experience with project management frameworks (e.g Scrum, Kanban)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with SOX Controls and IT Standards (ITIL, NIST)

  • Certifications like CISA or CISSP

  • Experience conducting or participating of IT audits

  • Experience in some areas like cyber risk controls, PCN & OT

Travel Requirements:(upon covid-19 global and local restrictions allows to)

  • Travel availability of 20% / year

  • Typical Travel duration: 3 weeks

  • Travel locations: Africa, Asia, Australia, Middle East, North and South America.
