Buenos Aires Shared Services Center (BASSC) located in Buenos Aires (Puerto Madero) Argentina, is a global operation offering HR, IT, business processing and finance services to support Chevron´s global operations.
BASCC is accepting online applications for the position of Tax Analyst. Successful candidates will join the Finance team.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
The Tax Analyst is responsible for determining the correct taxability, related to indirect taxes, of Chevron`s Latin America customers based on the understanding of the local tax regulations and the business.
Manage the tax liability of the company related indirect taxes, including the process of gathering information, preparation and filing of tax returns, accounting, and reporting process.
Extract, analyze and summarize different reports from the reporting system and other sources to prepare tax returns, calculate tax liability and file tax returns accordingly.
Sets up and maintain vendors and customers master data in the ERP systems.
Research and interpret tax regulations. Support Team Lead in the review of regulations and procedures to handle inquiries from internal and external counterparties including Government Agencies.
Have the ability to understand and apply accounting policies and practices
Analyze financial information, select and gather data, and recommend or determine a course of action
Analyze and reconcile company account ledgers
Finance, accounting or business administration degree.
- 5 years of general accounting work experience, including local taxes experience.
Advanced English level. Candidates selected for an interview will be required to complete an English assessment test.
Analytical skills to identify and resolve complex discrepancies or anomalies that frequently have impact in other work groups. Clear understanding of the financial/tax impact of the accounting entries made.
Able to set priorities and manage multiple deadlines.
Able to identify and initiate work process improvements.
Enjoy working with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
Experience with internal controls practices and compliance topics such as Sarbanes-Oxley testing.
Advanced command of productivity tools Power query and SharePoint
Relocation will not be considered.
