The Senior Environmental Specialist, Air will be responsible for regulatory compliance for Corporate and EPA GHG reporting, MACC Champion, BOEM air permitting and compliance, and state air permitting and compliance (LDEQ-Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality) for offshore and onshore locations.
The role requires effective engagement and relationships (e.g., Operations, Wells, Major Capital Projects, HSE, regulators, etc.).
The selected candidate will support the GOMBU Operations and Wells organizations, providing situational analysis and guidance as it pertains to air compliance and reporting, and the Major Capital Projects organization by providing input into designs for air emissions. As the MACC Champion, lead the GOM Carbon Intensity Management team’s efforts to reduce carbon intensity and methane emissions.
The successful candidate must be able to understand, interpret, and implement complex regulations. This position also requires the skills to manage multiple tasks concurrently; to critically and accurately evaluate an issue, pro-actively review available information, identify assumptions, risks, and uncertainties, and make recommendations to management. Participates where required to support OE assurance process by providing environmental SME knowledge for building and maintaining compliance register of environmental requirements.
This position will also represent Chevron on the Offshore Operators Committee, Air Workgroup, which negotiates regulatory and permitting updates with regulators (BOEM/BSEE, LDEQ, EPA) and stewards industry wide studies.Member of the Environmental Unit for Oil Spill Drills and Responses.

Regulatory compliance for Corporate and EPA GHG reporting
MACC Champion
BOEM air permitting and compliance
State air permitting and compliance (LDEQ-Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality) for offshore and onshore locations
Represent Chevron on the Offshore Operators Committee, Air Workgroup
Required Qualifications:
10 years’ experience in Air/GHG, demonstrated knowledge and experience in air emissions estimation, EPA GHG and regulatory reporting, state/federal air permitting, and regulatory liaison.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science.
Mastery of the English language is required.
Experience with developing efficient and accurate compliance assurance tools and work processes.
Experience with managing large quantities of environmental data; proficiency with Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Lower Carbon: GHG Marginal Abatement Cost Curve; Methane Detection and Product Carbon Footprint
Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written skills to effectively convey technical issues to a wide range of stakeholders.
Able to negotiate complex regulatory and permitting issues with regulators and communicate outcomes to management.
Time Management and Organization: Able to regularly prioritize multiple and competing work deliverables; create time-bound project plans and execute with excellence; able to keep files organized and in good working order
Problem-Solving: Able to quickly and accurately assess a problem, identifying vulnerabilities, uncertainties, and opportunities; develop and recommend plans/solutions for problems with uncertainties, risks, and competing business values.
Special Considerations:
- This position requires that the successful candidate has completed or is able to complete the offshore helicopter underwater evacuation training (HUET) and fitness for duty requirements.
