Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Certified Weld Inspector located in El Segundo, CA, United States, through June 21, 2021 at 11:59 p.m . (Eastern Standard Time).
The Certified Weld Inspector provides knowledge and expertise in fixed equipment including rotating equipment, engines, pumps, piping, valves and vessels, including inspection, troubleshooting and repair.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Perform quality management audits and inspections on Turnarounds, Routine Maintenance, and Projects for metals craft welding and mechanical work.
Documents and shares non-conformance findings with key stakeholders to correct.
Reviews and audits field and paperwork packages for adherence to Engineering Work Orders, applicable Code Procedures & Standards, etc.
Performs checks on duties such as visual inspection, weld mapping, positive material identification, non-destructive examinations, enforcement of Company weld rod control policies, welding procedure generation, verification, validation, maintain welder continuity logs, witness hydrostatic testing, tubing make up quality, flange make-up quality, etc.
Performs contractor performance evaluations.
Weld lnspectors must maintain current American Welding Society-CWl Certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with a history of safe driving practices.
3 years current Oil & Gas and refining experience.
Physical ability to perform routine maintenance will be required. Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices.
Ability to work rotating shift to include holidays, weekends, and night shifts with on-call duties
Basic knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), and an aptitude for learning new industry software packages (Meridium, Maximo, SAP).
Previous oil and gas mechanical experience
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors and internal and external customers
Communicates in a clear, concise, understandable manner, both orally and in writing. Listens carefully and asks questions.
Relocation options will not be considered.
