Chevron Corporation Automation Technologist in Gray, Louisiana
Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Automation Technologist through 10/07/2023 at 11:59 p.m. (CST).
The Automation Technologist is a member of the Automation team in the Global Pipeline & Power Operations Support & Control Center (CPPOC) organization within Chevron Pipeline & Power (CPP).
The Automation Technologist is responsible for providing installation and maintenance of instrument & control systems. The automation team supports CPP’s PLC, HMI, flow computers, field instrumentations, & SCADA systems. This specific position is based in Gray, LA and is an embedded position in the Gulf Coast area field team.
The technologist position functionally reports to the automation team however there is a dotted line reporting structure to the field team. The technologist is expected to be the primary point of contact between the field team and the automation team.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Support the commissioning activities for the project work in area of responsibility.
Assist the Automation Engineers that are assigned projects in area of responsibility.
Complete all site visits (SAP-PM) and make system updates as necessary.
Provide support during normal and after hours for Operations/I&E/Measurement/SCADA personnel.
Support external BU’s or Assets outside in area of responsibility when requested.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience programming and troubleshooting GE PLCs, Wonderware HMIs, OMNI flow computers, and field instrumentation.
Knowledgeable in SCADA protocols, data communications and computer security practices.
Ability to align cross functional stakeholders to deliver projects with business impact.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working with field-based operations teams.
Financial fluency
Understanding of one or more of project management processes (CPMS, IMPACT, etc.)
