Chevron Corporation Operations Support Engineer in Herzliya, Israel

The Operations Support Engineer is viewed as a focal point for constantly working to optimize and maximize production through all of EMED's offshore and onshore facilities. Systems included are: inlet fluids production, gas dew-pointing, gas export, liquids separation, condensate stabilization, MEG pre-treatment/reclamation/regenaration, produced water treatment, utilities and more…

This role is in support of two offshore gas production facilities and three onshore gas processing and midstream facilities. These facilities are world-class in both design and operation by providing >70% of daily electricity to the domestic grid in addition to expansive regional export of gas sales to both Jordan and Egypt.

Operations Support

  • Provide day-to-day support to Operations in process monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting, and process control.

  • Evaluate operating ranges of process variables throughout the facilities.

  • Provide limits, tools, and training to Operations to assist with maintaining stable operation.

  • Provide counsel and advice to operations and maintenance teams on the engineering aspects of systems and equipment.

  • OPEX review and identification of improvements for cost efficiency.

  • Support EHSR to ensure environmental compliance and excellence related to air emissions and water overboard discharge.

Process and Production Optimization

  • Work to implement safe and reliable solutions to relieve constraints where economically attractive

  • Investigate and determine precursors that lead to upset conditions.

  • Investigate and analyze problems with directed objectives and develop solutions for equipment and systems in operating facilities.

  • Document history of upsets and highlight repeat occurrences to analyze data and communicate to stakeholders.

  • Use facility models, process models and technology specific programs to perform detailed evaluations.

  • Build process monitoring tools for systems that stretch across multiple units or operating areas.

  • Identify gaps between current performance and best-in-class. Maintains awareness of industry standard performance.

  • Solve unusual or complex problems within the facilities requiring comprehensive understanding of Process and Production Systems while integrating other disciplines technologies and customer constraints. Engages SME’s appropriately.

Procedure Management

  • Develop process startup procedures, operating instructions and operator training guides.

  • Review and update operating procedures and/or operating manuals.

  • Lead operations team in step-by-step review of procedures.

Project Management

  • Propose modifications by following the Management of Change (MOC) process, provide instruction for installations when necessary and ensure proper documentation is included as part of the change.

  • Manage and/or support the life cycle of process/production related brownfield projects stemming from MOCs.

Multi-Disciplinary Support

  • Provide engineering support to other Chevron EMED technical staff and departments such as finance, accounting, and EHSR as required

  • Support and provide input to EHSR for regulatory and environmental compliance matters
