Chevron Corporation ITFP OT Architect in Houston, Texas

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide architecture guidance and hands-on software engineer that understands Chevron’s digital guardrails (CDAS) and technical environment

  • Advise on technology environment, enterprise specifics, requirements, etc.

  • Tech owner of time series functions for calculations against ingested time series data sitting in Azure Time Series Insights combined with equipment model information stored in Azure Digital Twin models. Skillset includes: good understanding of Azure services, Python and Python Dash (web) development, Azure Function development, Ansible role s and data integrations with TSI, Data Lake, Blob Storage, etc.

  • Other areas involved with: Equipment Bridge, Template Catalog, Digital Twin Modelling, PI APIs, TSI performance. Some understanding of OSI PI, some data engineering aspects, C# Azure Functions. Nice to have: some pySpark/Databricks.

  • Serve as technical advisor for the OT Data Management teams to enable following features:

  • Template Catalog – OSIsoft PI Asset Framework and Azure Digital Twin standard templates to be used as base point for implementations

  • Azure Digital Twin – model equipment hierarchy to allow PI data ingested into Azure time series to be married up to equipment meta data and hierarchy from AVEVA.

  • Equipment Bridge – enhance tool that allows proposed matches to be made and confirmed via a UI for the time series PI data and corresponding equipment read from Azure Digital Twin .

  • Time Series Functions – Azure functions used to allow for calculations to be made for things such as equipment run hours, etc. from the Time Series PI data with the context from Azure Digital Twin . These calculations are currently written to the data lake but in the future may also be used for write back to PI.

  • Taskinator – develop a scheduling API that allows time series functions to be run on a schedule and provides API callback and management functionality.

  • Support the commercialization and scaling of OT solutions that may include Seeq, ShookIoT, etc.

    Connected Worker & PCN Modernization Y Security

  • Responsible for the creation of the architecture quality plan which defines the content, scope and objectives of the architecture activities for the project.

  • Reviews and approves all conceptual, logical, and physical architecture deliverables documented and agreed to in the architecture quality plan.

  • Produce and maintain all strategic system architecture artifacts including vision, principles, constraints, standards, high- and low-level design etc.

  • Ensure that organizational standards, security solutions/methods and architectures are followed to mitigate security risks.

  • Act as a point of contact for any technical issues within the products and services.

  • Interface with architecture, network, operations and business stakeholders to ensure that proposed designs address organizational needs.

  • Build effective partnerships with vendors, peer architects, ITFP and Surface platforms teams, etc.

  • Work with the technical engineers during the full implementation lifecycle and help validate and install the solution

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have minimum of 10 years’ experience working for a global fortune 100 company within OT solutions delivery team.

  • Experience working with Agile /Safe Environments

  • Must have a full appreciation and/or worked within a global operation’s team.

  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide options to overcome challenges.

  • Skilled Software Engineer/Architect with experience with Azure services, software automation, systems architecture

  • Experience with containers, orchestration and other edge software technology

  • Engineer with hardware/software experience with various IoT components, e.g. IoT gateways, sensors, etc.

  • Experience with field worker devices, e.g. HoloLens & Toughbook

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.

  • Expertise on various management tools, capabilities, e.g. Intune, MobiControl, Intelletrac

  • Experience supporting BU operations including pipelines, remote locations, complex facilities

  • Strong understanding of Open Data Architecture and Purdue Reference Model concepts including various data related protocols, i.e. OPC UA, MQTT/SparkplugB.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across IT and process control network disciplines.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability and drive to own and deliver a project work package within minimum guidance and support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PCN Monitoring Experience

  • TOGAF certification preferred

  • Good working knowledge of ITIL principles.
