Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
The individual must perform delegated paralegal tasks under the guidance and direction of attorneys, including:
Preparing and negotiating a variety of agreements including, Marketing, Sales, Terminal, Aviation Fuel Sales, all based on consultation with business partners and review by attorneys.
Proofreading, editing, and approving materials and other legal documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with law.
Engaging and providing recommendations (risk analysis) to procurement, business partners and attorneys on vendor’s changes to legal terms in agreements.
Working closely with subject matter experts (including tax, compliance, and insurance) to integrate appropriate terms in agreements.
Analyzing and summarizing documents for review by business partners and attorneys.
Performing legal due diligence and legal research.
Multi-tasking and prioritizing work assignments to consistently provide high-quality work product in a fast-paced work environment.
Working closely with business partners and attorneys to resolve a variety of day-to-day issues, and supporting a broad range of commercial transactions and/or projects.
Minimum five years of experience as a paralegal or two years as an attorney negotiating and drafting Sales and Marketing agreements.
Ability to effectively analyze and communicate legal issues across broad functional and organizational lines (e.g., procurement, business partners, and attorneys).
Ability to maintain high quality performance with varied deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
Strong organizational, analytical, proofreading, editing, and research skills.
Strong communications skills (both oral and written) and intrapersonal skills.
Self-starter who is adept at working in a true team environment and partnering with management, business partners, in-house counsel, outside counsel, and staff.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or a law degree.
Experience negotiating Fuel Sales and Terminal agreements.
Experience in providing general assistance on real estate and/or leasing transactions.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Relocation will not be considered.
