Chevron Corporation Operations Technology Architect in Houston, Texas

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Operations Technology Architect located in Houston, TX through December 13th, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Enterprise Architect partners with business owners and service line owners to set vision and build technologies to support the enterprise. The focus is on providing foundational technologies/capabilities that accelerates product development across Chevron.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Establishes strategic direction and actionable technology strategy to guide technology investments within OT service line.

  • Designs technical architecture at the Enterprise level.

  • Defines and evolves technical guard rails for OT within Chevron.

  • Defines Technology and Architecture standards at an enterprise level.

  • Works with product and platform teams to build out roadmap of reusable foundational capabilities.

  • Collaborates with Platform Architects to ensure enterprise architecture continuously evolves based on business needs​.

  • Provides technical leadership both tactical (day to day activities) and strategic (big picture, vision).

  • Promotes and communicates across enterprise, platform, product teams and key stakeholders on technology and architectural standards, enterprise objectives and transformational roadmaps.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar discipline

  • Demonstrated strong understanding of Public cloud service offerings (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS services as well product offerings from Azure) and Infrastructure as Software (Container Orchestration, Observability, CI/CD)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering best-practices, DevOps, API, Microservices etc.

Technical Depth:

  • Demonstrated expert level capability in the area of process control networks, SCADA, and other operational technologies.

  • Knowledge of Chevron’s current Process Control Network (PCN) architecture as applied across our business lines.

  • Working knowledge of OSI PI suite of products, as well as other industrial control products used in Chevron.

  • Expert knowledge of Purdue levels and requirements for integration across levels.

  • Expert knowledge of IIoT technologies. Ability to identify if, how, and when we should be moving from current traditional PCN technologies to newer IIoT technologies.

  • Expert knowledge of security protocols and technologies as applied to OT devices and controls.

  • Knowledge of Azure IoT services and capabilities.

  • Demonstrated strong systems thinking and strategic thinking skills. Ability to capture the key elements of a system into a simple abstraction that empowers good decisions.

Relocation Options:

Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.
