Chevron is accepting online applications for the Portfolio Analyst - FE Technologist position through October 9th, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. (CDT).

Technical individual contributor position responsible for technical and data analytical support to FDS Technology & Solutions Deployment (T&SD) . The FDS Portfolio Analyst plays a key role within the department that enables both meeting CTC and Chevron business goals and developing and implementing portfolio management improvements to enhance departmental performance. The scope of the position is broad (both cross-functional and by type of work), and the scope taken on and depth of involvement depend on the bandwidth and capabilities of the candidate. Role includes data analysis, reporting, budget tracking & forecasting, intellectual property management, etc. As the FDS portfolio continues to grow and evolve, so will the scope of this role. Technical background or experience preferred.

Responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Portfolio management support

  • Coordinate project data quality improvement efforts, perform data analysis and reporting for FDS portfolio. Manage relevant small projects.

  • Support business planning, project proposal reviews, and project execution, etc. as directed.

  • Support technology deployment, and support implementation and use of related tools. Ability to learn and test other computer programs and tools, as needed.

  • Promote cost management through project level budget tracking reviews, reporting and stakeholder engagement.

  • Coordinate development of various project reports for communication to leadership and other stakeholders.

  • Actively contributes to development and testing of portfolio management tools (TargetProcess). Coach, mentor and train others on portfolio management tool use.

  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to encourage completion of required portfolio management activities and support, if needed.

  • Intellectual property (IP) management support

  • Facilitate FDS IP Management Committee. Proactively drive committee actions to completion.

  • Support FDS IP management activities and manage small projects, as needed.

  • Information management- Steward for FDS R&D library. Manage information for FDS IP Committee, various FDS SharePoint sites and databases.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated results and skill at data analysis and reporting, project management, required.

  • Achievement and result oriented. Ability to manage and work on multiple projects concurrently.

  • Strong communication skills required.

  • Ability to work both in teams and independently. Collaborative mindset.

  • Ability to train others. Known as coach for relevant areas.

  • Willingness to take on different roles and responsibilities, as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Chevron Way behaviors-

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area preferred.

  • 5-10 years technology analyst experience in a similar capacity/role in the oil and gas industry preferred.

  • Skilled at relevant software use and optimizing for use in portfolio management such as TargetProcess, MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, etc. required. Skills in PowerBI, and Anaqua desirable.

  • Knowledgeable of intellectual property management areas, and experience in leading or supporting them.
