Enterprise wide Process Safety/Risk Management subject matter expert (SME) support to existing operations and major capital projects (MCPs).
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Perform or interpret Quantitative Risk Analysis or Computational Fluid Dynamic Studies
Perform consequence modeling for fire, blast and toxic releases utilizing proprietary software;
Facilitate technical risk assessments using appropriate methodologies;
Develop Risk Management plans for MCPs
Develop and deliver Risk Management tech training
Enhance Risk Management competency across the enterprise through sharing lessons learned in the Fire & Process Safety Newsletter, OE Moments, mentoring, etc;
Provide SME solutions to technical Risk Management issues and initiatives managed through OE/HES Center or to BUs;
Project Manager for Tech Service jobs
Participate in professional organizations to have Company/Industry impact on process safety (PS) and risk management (RM)
Make technical decisions and provide coaching and mentoring.
Provide input to technical decision making on projects.
Anticipated travel 40% of the time
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, etc.)
A minimum of 10 years experience in a process safety, risk management related role with an emphasis in quantitative risk assessment techniques
SME in identification of process hazards and failure mechanisms. Strong working knowledge of quantitative / qualitative risk assessment techniques (with an emphasis on quantitative risk) and other systems managing process hazards
Knowledge of engineered and administrative safeguards
Knowledge of Technical Codes and Standards impacting Process Safety/Risk Management
Process/Chemical Engineering degree preferred
A minimum 10 yrs experience in an operating environment with cross-functional roles in Engineering or Operations.
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
