Chevron Corporation Subsurface Laboratory Engineering Scientist in Houston, Texas
Chevron is accepting online applications for the Subsurface Laboratory Engineering Scientist position through September 27th, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. (CDT).
This position requires in-depth knowledge and strong technical skills in fluid chemistry (bacteria, H2S, water, scale, and oil) and oilfield chemical treatment.
Must have recent hands on lab experience, to conduct lab and field testing procedure for root cause analysis and troubleshooting and surveillance to correlate with various datasets. Knowledgeable in geochemistry, microbiology, and gas-fluid-rock interactions.
Effective communications with team leader and other team members. Track records of lab hands on experience and lab OE: proven record of hands on lab experience field expertise in fluid sampling and analysis.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Design and build lab experimental set up to mimic field condition
Data analysis skill to utilize multiple and complicated dataset for diagnosis
Able to write technical report and present/communicate clearly with data insights
Able to provide solutions for field operation issues with deep understanding in chemistry, engineering, and operations.
Education: phD in chemistry or related discipline
Quantified experience: minimum of 2-3 years industry experience oilfield chemistry
Strong lab safety and OE awareness and able to meet all the safety standards
Require strong hands-on lab experience and passion/interest to work in lab on routine basis
Ability to communicate and collaborate with others;
Reliable and responsible team member
Track records of oilfield chemistry related publications/innovations
Occasional travel to field as needed.
Travel is up to 10-15% of time.
Relocation may be considered.
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
