Chevron Corporation Plant Operator in Huntington Beach, California

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • A plant operator must perform all work activities safely to meet operations commitments and maintain terminal records as advised (working with truck drivers, gauging tanks, stock control, waste/regulatory, and inventory reconciliation).

  • Ensure all work performed adheres to Chevron's Operational Excellent (OE) standards, regulatory, and code requirements.

  • Work closely with the Head Plant Operator and assist in training contractors.

  • May coordinate with Supply Schedulers, suppliers, and transporters for all products.

  • Performs inspections, maintenance and preventive initiatives to ensure accurate operation and environmental integrity.

  • Perform activities in the tank yard and Tank Truck Loading Rack (TTLR) areas (gauging tanks, switching tanks serving TTLR, performing daily inspections, and performing intra-terminal product movements)

  • Actively support Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner.

Required qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • Ability to troubleshoot maintenance repairs (mechanically) and requirements that could arise (climbing stairs, working on top of product storage tanks over 20 feet high, and lift 30-35 pounds).

  • Flexible to work on-call, shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime to support terminal operations, and respond to emergency situations when they arise.

  • Optimally utilizes computer tools.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in lubricants, oil, and gas or related petrochemical or petroleum products.

  • Able to work collaboratively with a complementary team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.

  • Clear and effective interpersonal skills, both oral and written.

Relocation Options:

Relocation will not be considered.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
