Chevron Corporation Non Fuel Retail (NFR) Specialist in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Chevron Malaysia Limited is accepting online applications for the position of Non Fuel Retail Specialist located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia through February 28, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Non-Fuel Retail Partnerships & Alliances Development• Develop and execute Non-fuel Retail partnerships to provide back-court solutions for the network including partnerships and alliances with convenience stores, quick-serve restaurants, coffee offerings and car workshop/service providers with the objective of providing a complete, consistent and high quality offer to consumers, increasing value proposition of the gas station sites to station owners, addressing the growing demand for service and convenience, and leading consumers to associate Chevron gas stations with a family of leading brands. This requires:

  • Understand local market non-fuel retail landscape

  • Identification, screening and short listing of high potential partners

  • Partner engagement and generation of interest to pursue

  • Due diligence and development of business case

  • Review of partner NFR offer formats and concepts for location compatibility and revenue potential

  • Launching of partnership and ongoing support including building relationships with retailer to drive buy-inOngoing identification and development of new partners

  • Scanning for competitive threats to partnerships and development and execution of response

Non-Fuel Retail (NFR) Partnerships & Alliances Relationship Management• Manage relationship with NFR partner. This requires:

  • Develop and deploy of NFR shaping plan/road map. Review every year and revise if necessary

  • Development and deployment of NFR Partner Influence Matrix. Review every year and revise if necessary.

  • Coordination of site design to optimize for Capex, Opex and traffic flow, and ensuring seamless site conversion. Align re-imaging (20/20) of sites with NFR stores

  • Training of retail and support staff to leverage partnership to drive network and volume growth

  • Continuous focus on execution of partnership on both sides to ensure effective deployment

  • Detailed scorecards and tools to effectively monitor performance throughout the network

New Business Acquisition (NTI/NTC) Support• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (New Business Acquisition Team, Retail District Manager, Retail Business Consultant, Asset Optimization) and external stakeholders (Caltex Retailer & NFR Partner Representatives) to provide support to New Business Acquisition Team in leveraging NFR partnerships to open NFR stores at new Caltex retail sites (NTI/NTC) for additional retailer source of revenue and fuel sales of Caltex Retailer • Prioritize Tier 1 and Tier 2 sites of Focused Investment Territory (FIT) as identified in the Strategic Network Plan (SNP)• Provide New Business Acquisition Team the NFR partner’s store requirements – lot/store size, lot lease period/franchise period, franchisee qualifications/requirements, location demographics/traffic generator requirements to open NFR store

Retail Contract Renewal Support • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Retail District Manager, Retail Business Consultant, Marketing Programs & Asset Optimization) and external stakeholders (Caltex Retailer & NFR Partner Representatives) to provide support in Caltex Retail Contract Renewals by leveraging NFR partnerships to open NFR stores at existing Caltex retail sites for additional retailer source of revenue and fuel sales of Caltex Retailer• Prioritize Tier 1 and Tier 2 sites wherein NFR store is critical for contract renewal

Site Improvement Plan (SIP) Support • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Retail District Manager, Retail Business Consultant, Marketing Programs & Asset Optimization) and external stakeholders (Caltex Retailer & NFR Partner Representatives) to provide support in Caltex Site Improvement Plan (SIP) for additional retailer source of revenue and fuel sales for Caltex Retailer• Prioritize Tier 1 and Tier 2 sites wherein NFR store is important to competitive in the trading area• Opportunity for Business Consultant to negotiate for early renewal of Retailer Contract

Cross-Promotions• Coordinate with Retail Partnerships Specialist, Brand, Marketing Programs, Retail Operations to develop and execute marketing promotions to increase fuel and store sales through joint promotion

Issue Resolutions• Coordinate any issues/challenges between the Caltex retailer and NFR partner until resolution. Example, dirty toilets/not working facilities of Caltex site wherein NFR customer is complaining, traffic flow and parking issues, etc.

OtherProvide support for local initiatives when requested including brand activities, marketing programs, investor support, etc.

Required Qualifications:• Degree in Economics or Marketing is preferred• Minimum of 8 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position• Proficient in both written & spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia• Excellent people skills and able to work with diverse groups • Self-motivated to succeed and solution orientated• Customer-facing with good business acumen• Should be Malaysian citizen or holds relevant residence status • Possess valid driving license
