This is a Technical Position, Responsible for the Operations activities for Chevron Lubricants Supply Chain Plant. This includes OE/HES, procurement operations, stock control, scheduling, manufacturing, quality control, maintenance and engineering. Work closely with the other regional groups within the Supply Chain function to ensure successful deployment of category management, sales & operations planning, logistics, management systems, process standardization and supply chain optimization in the region.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Responsible for strict application of OE process involving FTEs, FTC’s, suppliers and contractors:
MOC: Lead and coordinate team, with area Supervisors required, to evaluate impact for SC operation with projects requiring inventory management or procurement involvement (sunset and/or introduction of new products, change in suppliers and/or raw materials specifications, other…).
LPS: must lead the procurement and Stock Control team, coaching about LPS tools use, scheduling LPO’s and directing feedback about LPO’s. Share lessons learned.
Lead and support all investigations related with NLI or LI due to procurement and stock control activities.
Human Performance: must lead the procurement and Stock Control team, coaching about HP tool use.
Leverage and Lead the use of Lean Sigma tools (5S, Salsa, Kaizen, Green belt projects, Gemba walks).
Manage and development of Work Instructions for administrative and operational processes.
Support the Operations Manager in leading the Emergency Response and Contingency Plans.
Must work very close to HES Specialist to apply Supply Chain processes related with Contractors, including selection, training, performance tracking and periodic evaluations.
Responsible for guiding and coaching of its working group, about compliance and application of Contractors policies.
Lead the SOX revision cycle activities (review / test / audit / corrective actions), and all internal Controls related to the Procurement and Stock Control functions.
Supervise and coach the buyers in the procurement process, being involved in critical areas as:
Serve as ultimate Interface with suppliers, verifying and solving claims and day-to-day issues not solved by buyers, and leading any situation that affect supplier operations and Lubricants supply issues.
Review and approval of quotations, proposals that have been developed, and/or negotiations for local contracts as required by Procurement thresholds.
Accountable for eProcurement, including content/catalog management, buying/transactions, supplier adoption, reporting, training, and implementation.
Provide procurement resources and training to meet the needs of the business
Leads execution of procurement processes across all operations (to the extent possible)
Serve as senior Procurement liaison with Finance and Maintenance / Operations / Technical Customers
Work with Accounts Payable to improve the Procure to Payment processes, handle elevated issues around payment to vendors
Responsible for conducting all procurement activity in line with Policy 500 to meet the minimum requirements of SOX audits / tests and address any resultant issues.
Identify opportunities and conduct local sourcing for products and services not yet sourced at the operation.
Align local sourcing with procurement policies and guidelines
Supervise and give support to Stock Controller, facilitating resources required and being actively involved in relevant activities, including:
Revision of annual schedule of physical counts.
Verification and pre-approval of inventory reports prepared by Stock Controller.
Participate in investigation teams required when a significant LI or NLI is logged and secure quality of analysis and action plan defined.
Facilitates training and re-training of stock control techniques and management.
Follows performance in reduction of Old and Slow inventories, giving support to Operational Departments involved in solution, as required.
Maintains written stock control procedures to assure consistency and accuracy of the stock system.
Analyzes physical processes in the plant and promotes changes to enhance stock control efforts.
Identifies the need for SAP systems changes and works with SAP IT to modify.
Conducts internal audits to assure critical stock control activities are being properly performed and recommends corrective action as required.
Bachelor's degree or 5 years Supply Chain or Procurement Experience
2 years of Indirect/Direct Purchasing Experience
Demonstrated ability to utilize analytical tools and processes to evaluate multiple options for solutions.
Advanced in Excel and PowerPoint.
Strategic thinking and ability to analyze situations, determine critical value drivers, and make recommendations
Demonstrated ability to clearly convey concepts and objectives orally; in presentations and in technical reports; both with all internal company stakeholders as well as externally.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills; strong team player.
Sound problem solving skills that can handle complexities within deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics or Finance.
Proficiency in SharePoint, SAP Power BI or other Data Modeling Tools.
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
