Chevron Corporation Production Engineering Technologist in Midland, Texas

Chevron is accepting online applications for the Production Engineering Technologist position through December 8, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. (Central Time).

The Delaware Basin Area of the Mid-Continent Business Unit is looking for a candidate to fill the DB Production Engineering Technologist role. The position will support the Operations and AD Factory Teams in unconventional development in the Delaware Basin based in Midland, Texas.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • The DB Production Engineering Technologist will be a part of a multidisciplinary team, including production/operations, reservoir and facility engineering, earth science, operations, land, and well construction.

  • The Production Technologist will provide data analytics support to the technical team, including proactively monitoring the performance of new and existing wells to ensure optimal value, supporting the onboarding new Petrotechnical team members, tracking all well work and project costs, and monitoring offset frac activity.

  • The Production Technologist will help identify duplicate work across teams to eliminate it. Furthermore, the Production Technologist will motivate team members to learn and advance the digital solutions for engineering, operations, and earth science workflows in MCBU. They will also provide data analytics and support to special projects.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (technical emphasis preferred).

  • Experience with data extraction, loading, transformation, and storage.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required. Ability to work in fast paced environment and effectively manage change.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Oil & Gas industry. Understand basic geologic and petroleum principles.

  • Use of Spotfire or PowerBI. Experience in WellView and Power Apps is a plus.

  • Digital awareness and desire to continue to develop digital skills through self-directed learning.

  • Effective at both verbal and written communication. Also important is the ability to effectively manage time and to prioritize work to manage multiple tasks without difficulty and delivering work on time. Strong ability to build team consensus and ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multi-discipline environment.
