We operate 100,000 barrels per day refinery in Milnerton, Cape Town, that produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, fuel oil, paving asphalt and other products. Chevron South Africa also has interests in a lubricant oil manufacturing plant in Durban and maintains a laboratory and blending plant there.

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Laboratory Analyst (Entry Level) located in Milnerton, South Africa through 20 June 2018 .

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Will be assigned to a specific piece or pieces of Laboratory Equipment which he/she will specialize

  • Capture and report results timeously and accurately on the relevant worksheets and StarLIMS, after being trended

  • Meet and maintain quality assurance requirements by completing the specific relevant training modules. Will become familiar with laboratory control samples (LCS) and calibrations of equipment in one of the 3 laboratories

  • Comply with all health, safety and environmental requirements and standards by maintaining a safe working environment and taking corrective action where necessary. Participate in loss prevention system observations and reporting near loss investigation / loss investigations. Ensure the use of all necessary personal protective equipment at all times, inside the laboratory as well as on the plant. Get familiarized with all the safety emergency procedures and processes

  • Plan, prioritize and organize work on a daily basis to meet customer requirements. Assist the team by sharing workloads in fulfilling customer requirements via instruction

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Analytical Chemistry

  • Must be willing and available to work on night shift or work over weekends

  • Highly attentive to details

  • Demonstrated planning and prioritizing skills

  • Proven teamwork skills

Relocation Options:

Relocation will not be considered within Chevron South Africa parameters.
