This position is responsible for day-to-day operations activities and meet production plan in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner.

  • Supervision of all Blending, Zinc reaction and filling activities and ensure all activities fully meet quality/OE requirements, maintaining a Right First Time index of >98% for B&S and stability Zinc unit operations.

  • Cooperate with LAB/QC, Supply chain, Planning and Maintenance team to maximize utilization of resources available to achieve the best efficiency in the manufacturing process.

  • Leads shift team of Ops both for Zinc and B&S unit.

  • Ensures efficient and effective use of personnel. Work load at the plant varies from day to day depending on the customer demands, particularly in the Zinc area. The senior Ops lead assigns manpower to different work according to the demands, taking into account the qualifications of each person.

  • Manages the quality assurance laboratory during holidays and after office hours.

  • Oversees the operation of sophisticated Distributed Control System with special software applications to support the batch manufacturing for Zinc unit.

  • Drives up plant availability by close monitoring of batch delays and implementing immediate corrective/preventive actions.

  • Holds strategy meetings to ensure coordination between cross functional work groups based on the daily production, B&S and Zinc.

  • Coaches and advises all operating technicians on their individual performance & is responsible for their PMPs.

  • Evaluates & recommends the training needs of the technicians.

  • Leads in conducting the Operation Technician job qualification process.

  • Ensure that all operations staff and contractors personnel perform their duties and responsibilities in accordance to standard procedures, work instruction and in compliance to all HES procedures.

  • Ensure that all operations staff and contractors personnel are trained to carry out their respective tasks.

  • Identify and schedule contract manpower requirement to ensure that all resources are fully utilized.

  • Implement Conduct of Operations (COO) requirements, monitor and verify operational performance, and ensure that all operations are in compliance with corporate safety and operational standards.

  • Comply with and enforce OEMS management regulations to ensure operational excellence.

  • Senior Ops lead is responsible for reviewing all incident reports and other safety issues with his team. He also participates in safety audits and does checks on equipment under repair to ensure proper use of lock out / tag out, vessel entry, PPE and other relevant safety procedures.

  • Management of raw material stock taking, including base oil, components, packing material and other production stock items, deviation analysis for raw material stock taking.

  • The senior Ops lead works with the respective section leaders / coordinator to plan this work consistent with the operating plan and operations resources available to prepare the equipment.

  • Assumes Plant head, Incident Commander and Lab Supervisor roles on the irregular working hours.

  • Lead and support new project work, participate in the development of commissioning plan and carry out all the CSU works.

  • The Senior Ops lead implements the plan as requested by the section lead / coordinator regarding the timing and overall plan of test runs. He ensures that the plan has been communicated to the operating teams and that adequate resources are assembled to support the test run.

  • The senior Ops lead conducts field testing and manages training schedules for formal and on-the-job training for his team. He leads a team, consisting of himself, HR, training his technicians.

  • Develop and maintain operation Manual and other operations related documents updated.

  • Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or above.

  • Five plus years’ relevant experience in refinery, petrochemical or chemical industry.

  • Minimum of five plus years of progressive responsibility and leadership in operations.

  • Superior people management skill.

  • Enjoy teamwork environment in a High Performance Organization.

  • Superior investigation and problem solving skills; identify the root causes and develop solutions.

  • Well versed in process safe work practices

  • Demonstrated ability in conducting JSA, PHA and PSSR.

  • Possess good leadership and interpersonal skills; and able to work well with others in achieving team’s goals.
