Chevron Corporation MCBU - Well Commissioning Rep in Orla, Texas

Operates and monitors oil, water and gas production and distribution facilities, typically Upstream facilities from wells to primary separation and processing, and Midstream distribution/storage facilities (pipelines/terminals). Monitors process variables, troubleshoots, and performs interventions to maintain operating performance.

Supports major customers/clients and leads projects of medium scope and complexity under limited supervision. Detailed knowledge of most aspects of the work function.

Chevron North America Exploration and Production Company is accepting online applications for the position of Well Commissioning Rep for Permian Basin assets located near Orla, TX through June 15th, 2023at 11:59 p.m. (CST) This position is part of a growing water infrastructure and operations organization for the Midland and Delaware Basin Asset Development Programs. MCBU is expected to manage over 3B bbls of water by 2025. In the next 5 years, the Water Operations Team must enable over 1,520 well completions and 1,510 well POPs.

This position will be a 14/14 rotational position. The Flowback Well Commissioning Rep. will be the onsite representative for the Commissioning Team. Responsible for flow back-commissioning of wells associated with the Permian Basin unconventional asset development program. Must have demonstrated knowledge and experience operating onshore oil and gas wells. Oversee and provide daily guidance to multiple well-testing vendors regarding drawdown strategies and sand management techniques. Responsible for deployment and maintenance of COOP sand equipment. Develop standardized data collection practices for all flowback and develop SOP(s) for equipment operation. Develop and drive project opportunities. Develop & implement visualization tools to drive data-based decisions. Ensure Chevron processes and procedures are always followed by personnel on-site to eliminate potential SIF opportunities. Will work with other Ops Reps in the commissioning activities.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Actively supports Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices as described in the MCBU Safe Practice Manual, maintaining a safe working environment, and being prepared to respond to an environmental or safety event

  • Monitors computer control systems.

  • Tests safety devices.

  • Operates and monitors SCADA.

  • Partners with other employees, and contractors to ensure that all equipment is operating at peak efficiency.

  • Assures all work performed adheres to Chevron's Operational Excellence standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 of year current related experience in oil and gas, or related petrochemical industries

  • Ability and willingness to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends, and holidays of assigned work schedule.

  • Possess a valid driver's license. Company vehicles will be available for commute.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

  • Associate's degree in Petroleum or Process Technology or related technology discipline

  • 10 years of current related experience in oil and gas, or related petrochemical industries

  • Familiarity with reliability efforts for a variety of safety, environmental, and production-related issues

  • Familiar with pneumatic/electronic instrumentation

  • Basic knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), CMMS, SCADA, and an aptitude for learning new software packages

  • Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks with limited supervision

  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers

  • Ability to manage time effectively, and work with minimal supervision
