Chevron Corporation Quality Management Coordinator in Pasadena, Texas
Technical discipline position responsible providing quality assurance support to operations and projects.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Provide coordination and audit of any Quality activities as part of Routine, Turnaround, and Project fabrications
Audit or establish an ITP to ensure NDE methods are appropriate for intended fabrications
Collaborate with cross functional teams including Materials Engineering, Designs Engineer, Project Engineers, and FEI Inspectors to ensure appropriate job expectations are set and followed during new fabrications and repairs
Make recommendations to change on NDE procedures or techniques to ensure application provides accurate and applicable results
Coordinate with NDE Level IIIs for complex NDE applications or training of personnel when required.
Review welding procedures and welder/welding operator qualifications.
Audit welding activities for onsite and offsite fabrications
Help trouble shoot welding issues for onsite and offsite fabrications.
Work with Materials Engineers and Welding Engineers to resolve complex welding issues
Audit refinery work processes and practices to identify opportunities and influence Quality improvement. Trend data from Request for Information, Non-Conformance Reports, and related documentation to find and address Quality gaps.
Support contract management of Inspection/Quality service providers while working with Fixed Equipment Integrity Team Lead to manage headcount and contract
Audit NDE work to ensure compliance with appropriate industry and local standards.
Audit contract craft personnel training to ensure compliance with appropriate industry and local standards (e.g. NDE technicians, welders, mechanics, I&E technicians, quality control inspectors etc.). Help develop plans for increased competency training when needed.
When necessary, support NDE contractor establish priorities and deadlines to align with refinery customer needs
Network with other Chevron QM and NDE practitioners and leaders to remain informed of advances in the Quality, Welding, NDE, and other applicable spaces
Support Manufacturing efforts to align QM work process across sites to improve efficient and support cross manufacturing facility resource sharing. Actively work to maintain open and clear communication between technical, reliability, integrity, and maintenance teams to facilitate cooperation and assure results.
Participate in the planning and executing work plans for plant routine, emergency, turnarounds and capital projects
Demonstrate good communication skills, both oral and written vertically and across the organization.
Demonstrate ability to lead and participate in team activities resulting in high quality problem solving and root cause analysis
Maintain a site presence and respond to off-hour and emergency calls
Occasionally work long hours associated with planned and unplanned operating unit outages
Domestic travel is required, roughly 5%, depending on assigned projects and experience level
Job necessitates driving on a routine basis

Required Qualifications:
American Welding Society – Certified Welding Inspector (AWS CWI)
Demonstrated 5+ years of NDE and/or quality experience in refining or petrochemical industries
Experience with field coordination of a variety of NDE methods (PT/MT, RT, UT) for work in routine maintenance, turnaround maintenance and project execution
Able to climb ladders, access internals of equipment, etc.
Valid driver’s license
Working knowledge of equipment operation, mechanical design, material selection, inspection methods/practices, and repair techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
API Source Inspector Fixed Equipment (SIFE)
NACE Certifications
API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector Certification
API 570 Piping Inspector Certification
API 653 Above Ground Storage Tank Inspector Certification
American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) Level II or Level III in RT, UT, MT, and PT
Working knowledge of how to appropriately use and experience coordinating a variety of NDE methods PT, MT, RT, PAUT, SWUT, TOFD
Safe working habits with no more than 1 OSHA recordable injury in the past 5 years
Communication: Must have ability to communicate in clear and accurate sharing of facts in both written and verbal forms. Must have ability to gain support from cross functional team to leverage NDE technology
Planning: Demonstrated experience planning significant NDE projects.
Knowledge of industry recognized damage mechanisms and fixed equipment reliability and condition monitoring programs and practices
Bachelor’s Degree or other technical degree
Working knowledge of IBM Maximo, Metegrity Visions, Microsoft Office Applications, Microsoft Power BI
