about the role

The Wheatstone Project is one of Australia's largest natural gas projects and along with the Gorgon Project, positions Chevron as a major liquefied natural gas (LNG) operator in Australia and globally. As Australia’s first LNG hub, working on the Wheatstone Project will put you on the frontline to help deliver crucial energy to the world.

Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Reliability Engineer to join the Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) within the Produce Function. Produce Function. Reporting to the Reliability Manager, this role will be Perth based.

As a Reliability Engineer, you will work with Asset Maintenance & Reliability, Production, Technical Excellence and Systems teams to ensure Chevron’s reliability & integrity management processes are effectively applied.

Additionally, the Reliability Engineer will:

  • Actively participate in Process Safety Management processes in support of the Asset Integrity Management Program.

  • Work with Asset System teams, Fixed Equipment Integrity and Instrument & Controls Engineering to ensure appropriate identification and management of risks associated with reliability & integrity threats & deficiencies

  • Assist Principal Investigator in investigation of safety related incidents and accidents, and provide direction in the facilitation guidance and coordination of Learning Teams, 5 Why and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) failure investigations as needed

  • Undertake work order history analysis and make recommendations for asset strategy optimization in support of the Living Work Program

To be considered for this role, applicants should have experience in:

  • Minimum of 5 years technical experience in complex process facilities

  • Skills and experience in the use of reliability engineering analysis tools and facilitation of failure mode effect analysis and criticality assessments

  • Ability to influence without authority in particular when identifying improvement opportunities in the asset strategy optimization process

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to competitive performance results
