Chevron Lummus Global (CLG) is a 50/50 joint venture between Chevron and McDermott to license Chevron's hydroprocessing technology and sell catalysts globally. CLG is supported on the Chevron side from the Technology Marketing (TEMA) group in the Strategy, Planning, and Technology division of Chevron's Downstream and Chemicals company.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Leads the CLG JV Business Development, Licensing, Catalyst Sales and Technical Services effort in the Asia Pacific region (South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore – Excluding China and India) to: retain existing customers; identify and pursue new business opportunities, negotiate contracts and secure business; and be responsible for the successful execution of all CLG business results. Customers include independent & national oil companies with revenues approaching $200 MM for the region.

Develops CLG JV Business Development strategies for the region and specific customers, manages execution of regional strategies either directly or through other account managers.

Primary direct contact for customers for execution of licensing and catalyst sales for multiple direct large accounts ($50MM+), leading a cross functional team of technical, legal, compliance, finance, supply chain, and management personnel to effectively sell and secure business through contract execution, assuring delivery on all commitments.

Acts as TEMA’s representative for the Chevron enterprise in the region, interacting with key and high level stakeholders in other parts of the organization.

Assists other account managers, area managers, and regional directors. Leads high level meetings with key customers such as Oil Ministers and senior JV parent company management (Chevron, W. R. Grace & McDermott).

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or similar

  • Minimum of 10 years of business and commercial experience in the refining industry with minimum of 5 years in technology licensing

  • Must be able and willing to travel (50+%) and operate on a global scale

  • Understands Asia Pacific regional business trends and competitor landscape

  • Demonstrated applications of high level business acumen and commercial skills along with experience in negotiating contracts

  • Proactive with ownership to resolve problems and deliver results

  • Robust team work experience and ability to motivate and develop others, aligning and inspiring diverse teams

  • Must be articulate, able to present and listen well

  • Good capability for strategic planning and problem solving, both long and short term

  • Models Chevron Way behaviors and Downstream and Chemicals behaviors of Results, Speed, Simplicity, Directness, and Inclusion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Mandarin or other Asian language preferred

  • Cultural experience doing business in the Asia Pacific region

  • Experience working with senior level executives in a multi-national organization
