Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Work with engineers and project managers to develop multidisciplinary designs and permit ready drawing/document packages

  • Develop and maintain design standards for drawings

  • Use EPDM systems such as Documentum and SolidWorks to assure that all records are secure.

  • Efficiently completes and revises P&ID, architectural, mechanical, structural, electrical and other drawings

  • Coordinates efforts of 3rd party designers to assure completeness and quality

  • Assures that all work product is detailed and accurate

  • Identifies, recommends, and implements design solutions to assure that they are fitu for purpose and compliant with codes, regulations, or standards

  • Effectively prioritizes multiple tasks and manages design resources

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years experience developing designs for a chemical R&D facility

  • Minimum Associates degree in engineering or architecture

  • Fluent using MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills

  • High attention to detail in documentation

  • Skilled in AutoCAD, SolidWorks EPDM and Documentum

  • Ability to plan, manage and expedite engineering deliverables from a variety of sources

  • Ability to work with engineers, researchers and technicians on design issues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading a team of designers

  • Knowledge of project management processes

  • Experience with SolidWorks of other 3D solutions
