Chevron Corporation Specialist, Claims and Approvals in Richmond, California

Chevron is accepting online applications for the Specialist, Claims and Approvals position through August 12th, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. (PDT).

This role is for an OEM Claims and Approvals Specialist in the OEM, Digital and Business Enablement team under the Lubricants Products & Technology organization. The primary role is managing the OEM approval process for the Commercial Sector which supports our Brand and Product Line strategies. The OEM Claims and Approvals Specialist main function is to execute on OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) approval registrations aligned with Brand Strategies and Product Development requirements.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Process OEM Approvals & Industry Claims (new, renewals, sunset) and prioritize all incoming requests for business importance and impact.

  • Work with formulators and others to identify and gather all needed technical information for each OEM approval.

  • Work with others or alone to complete all OEM approval documentation per each OEM's specific process. Follow through on questions and requests from the OEM's. Follow the approval request through to completion.

  • Utilize Enovia system to manage day to day tasks for planning and reporting of OEM Approval application status.

  • Invoice processing for associated OEM Approvals or Claims & Required Testing

  • Help Desk for OEM Technical Specialists

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results. Holds self and team members accountable. Deadline-oriented, assertive and able to manage multiple and conflicting priorities while providing timely customer support. Ability to maintain confidentiality of the work and the integrity of the processes. Reprioritizes work quickly to meet changing demands, strategies, and situations. Can work with customers and internal stakeholders to set priorities & execute work with minimal direct supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Capable of communicating to external customers and key internal stakeholders. Able to work with peers and stakeholders of different cultures and backgrounds.

  • Demonstrated skills in managing approval processes or other similar project management with a strong customer or business focus.

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to details a must.

  • Overall computer proficiency is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of finished lubricants, lubricant additives and OEM's desired

  • Experience working with external customers and internal commercial and technical stakeholders strongly desired.

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or sciences preferred. 1-2 years’ experience in the energy industry is desired.
