Chevron Stations Inc is a wholly owned affiliate of Chevron. It is comprised of a network of 300+ company-own, company operated (COCO) retail gas stations and convenience stores located in California, Washington and Oregon. The Chevron Business Consultant is responsible for actively overseeing all aspects of 15 retail facilities within a designated geography as it relates to safety, security, regulatory compliance, sales, operations, labor, safe food handling, quality control and marketing. The ideal candidate possesses great leadership, sales, problem-solving and collaboration skills to provide solutions and recommendations that will increase profitability and efficiencies.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Operations - Provides supervision and direction to 15 direct station managers and 140 indirect station employees in a designated zone. Accountable for full station P&L profitability, operating expenses, stock/cash loss. Coordinates the execution of merchandising programs including promotions, in-store merchandising, point of purchase materials, and analysis of promotional results. Ensures execution on image and customer service programs to help drive sales.

  • People - Provides leadership, coaching and development to direct station managers and other indirect station employees. Clearly communicates performance goals, expectations and opportunity areas for all employees. In consultation with HR, works with station managers on complex people issue resolutions. Takes corrective action when appropriate. Ability to coach and direct the hiring and retention of all station staff within assigned zone.

  • Relationships - Partners with key stakeholders including Operations, Accounting, Human Resources and Maintenance & Construction to ensure that stations are compliant, appropriately staffed and meets Chevron Station Inc. standards. Maintains ongoing relationship and integration with other internal and external support teams (i.e., Retail Marketing, Field Merchandising, Price book, Retail Marketing Center, Environmental, Safety & Health, back-office system helps Desk, etc.).

Job Requirements- Frequent driving to assigned stations and meetings with some overnight travel is possible. Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays, to respond to station incidents and emergencies. This is a safety sensitive Position. All employees in safety-sensitive positions will be subject to periodic random testing for drug and alcohol.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience in Retail Sales and Operations

  • A minimum of 5 years of Retail Management of employees, recognized as an effective coach and an outstanding lead or supervisor

  • Availability to respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis.

  • Availability to be in field 60% and 35% home office based and 5% overnight travel is possible.

  • Valid Driver´s License

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Actively manages employees, recognized as an effective coach and an outstanding supervisor.

  • Execute, modify, and implement business and strategic plan for Company Owned Gas Station / Convenience Store operations in zone.

  • Ability to analyze sales trends, financial performance, market dynamics and industry trends to improve profitability of zone.

  • Ability to use/learn SAP. Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to monitor and communicate business results.

  • Able to manage multiple projects, categories, and people. Ability to manage change effectively. Proactively and creatively meet new challenges and enhance business profitability.

  • Ability to foster a spirit of teamwork from inside and outside the assigned work groups. Accomplishes goals through positive business relationships.

  • Ability to quickly and completely analyze a problem, evaluate the possible options and determine/implement appropriate actions.

  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to hold team members accountable.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,400 – $168,400. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
