The Enterprise Systems & Services (ESS) - SAP Technical Services organization is responsible for supporting the global implementation of SAP. The SAP Technical Analyst position is part of the global team that delivers the 7x24 day-to-day operational and project support accountable for supporting the technical layers, database platform, system lifecycle activities and project consultation for SAP products in Chevron as part of Chevrons' digital transformation to the cloud and driving efficiency through automation.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • SAP software installation, upgrade, applying support packages, patches and fixes, installation of add-on software components, SAP profile parameter changes, workload analysis, system error analysis and establishing standard Basis background jobs and system health checks and monitoring.

  • Implementation and integration of new SAP components and software (HANA, FIORI, etc)

  • Cloud migration and integration

  • Scripting and automation.

  • Database administration (Oracle or HANA)

  • Problem escalation and resolution, working with SAP and other software/hardware vendors to resolve problems.

  • Analysis of system performance, system health checks, and implementation of tuning improvements.

  • Maintenance of multi-landscape environments through environment copies, system refreshes, and transport management.

  • Participation in group after-hours on-call rotation.

  • Periodic night/weekend work required for system maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, CS, or equivalent experience in Information Technology or other relevant field

  • 3+ years SAP Basis Administration experience (ECC6+) or Oracle Database Administration experience on a Linux platform

  • Basis experience with SAP R3/ECC6+, Portal, SCM, NetWeaver, PI, BW, Fiori administration

  • Intermediate Linux navigation and system administration

  • Intermediate Oracle performance tuning, trouble shooting, patches and parameter maintenance (Oracle 11g and above)
