The Workforce Analytics Manager serves as the HR organization’s champion for predictive analytics, data driven HR solutions and for increasing the analytical capability of the HR function. Reporting to the General Manager of HR Functional Strategy & Planning (FS&P) this strategic leadership role is responsible for leading efforts and initiatives that identify, develop, and apply strategic human capital analysis that support Chevron's enterprise business strategies, with particular emphasis on People strategy.

This position designs and manages quantitative studies, data narratives, and visualizations to address human capital challenges across the entire HR function. As part of the HR functional strategy and planning leadership team, the position maintains ongoing partnerships and engagement with Business HR managers, COE’s, HR shared services and business leaders to understand and enhance HR’s ability to influence and form compelling narratives using people data. Partner with HR technology and systems leadership to lead data quality programs and standards so there is a single source of truth for HR information.

The successful incumbent will lead the development of quantitative and qualitative projects to measure the effectiveness of programs for data-driven decision making, distill business insights, results and recommendations from analyses into presentations for senior business leaders and Human Resources/Organization Capability executives.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Derive actionable business intelligence from people data to shape HR strategy, programs and policies.

  • Work with other components of the HR model on understanding, applying, and improving HR data to enhance HR’s ability to influence and form compelling narratives using people data.

  • Responsible for upgrading, assessing and reporting metrics to the Human Resources Committee that assess progress towards Chevron’sPeople Strategies.

  • Understands impact of metric/process variables on corporate-wide operations, and on performance indicators.

  • Manages the Workforce Analytics team – Provides leadership, performance management and development coaching for team members.

  • Sets own team vision, actions, metrics and monitors progress.

  • Conducts leader pipeline and succession analysis to assess readiness, diversity, bench strength, and identify risks.

  • Responsible for Chevron’s global culture and engagement survey (Chevron Engagement Survey) project.

  • Collaborates with corporate center groups (e.g., Corporate Strategic Planning, Corporate HES, and Public Affairs) in the joint development of internal and external communications materials (e.g., Corporate Responsibility Report, Worldwide Employee Town Hall, Board of Director’s Book, Invest in People Business Plan, Annual Report).

  • Champion and lead the Workforce Analytics Community of Practice (COP), to build capabilities in HR analytics and data-driven decision making through a structured combination of networking, best-practice sharing, and development programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree, with a strong academic record, in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Organizational Behavior Studies, or similar degree plan

  • At least 8 years experience required in data analytics, dashboards and reporting, and/or workforce analytics.

  • Clear and concise communications skills, both verbal and written, across a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the organization. This role interfaces with the Human Resources Committee, Human Resources, business and functional leaders.

  • Strong grasp of analytic principles as this role manages key human resources workforce analytics and must clearly communicate key messages.

  • HR analytics is a maturing field and this role will need to remain in tune with external developments in this space.

  • Must have have had previous similar experience and ability to analyze business needs to distill insights, results and recommendations and develop those insights to form a strategic viewpoint.

Prefered Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in an area related to data analytics (e.g., Data Sciences, Business Administration) preferred

  • Experience with Workday strongly preferred
