Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Quality System Management:

  • Assists the Lab Supervisor (Management Representative) to organize and conduct internal quality audits, control of documented procedures, scheduling and assisting the conduct of management review meetings to review effectiveness of the quality system

  • Process and distributes controlled documentation used by the Lube Oil Blending Plant (LOBP), Viscosity Index Improver Blending Plant (VIIBP) and Logistics. Maintains copies of current and previous document files, flowcharts and other quality records. Guides document control coordinators from LOBP and GML in maintaining and safeguarding new/revised quality system and procedures

  • Quality Data Collection and Reporting: Gather data from various stakeholders related to quality performance, such as blend conformance rate, performance on quality objectives, supplier performance and customer feedback. Compiles relevant data into presentations or charts for management review. Maintains and reviews list of plant SDS and laboratory Risk Assessment. Assist laboratory in Blend Conformance rating

  • Development of Quality Manuals and Procedures: Assists in development and continual improvement of quality manuals, procedures and work instructions for LOBP, VIIBP and Laboratory

Blend Formulation Development and Product Quality:

  • Performs laboratory blends for formulation changes and conduct testing that requires specialized handling. Performs formulation checks and perform updating of the formulation database in SAP. Handles queries on formulation, checks and confirms findings. Communicates with customer regarding test results, operational or quality issues. In conjunction with blending team, devises blending advice templates for products. Assists lab lead in review of GPIMS changes and maintain update

  • Assists Laboratory Lead in investigations related to product quality. Works with stakeholders to investigate and analyze to find root causes of customer complaints, product non-conformance so as to recommend corrective actions. Reports findings and ensure that all cases are properly documented and corrective actions are monitored until closure. Performs hand-blends as appropriate to aid in the investigations

Equipment Reliability Maintenance & Lab Proficiency Programs:

  • Performs equipment maintenance or verification activities. Maintains records for control check samples and calibration data; work on test method development or measurement uncertainty determination

  • Participates in laboratory proficiency program testing

Process Safety:

  • Operating Procedures (OP): Leads the development of new operating procedures in the LOBP, VII plant and Laboratory. Identifies and convenes natural work teams to author OP’s; engages plant supervisors to implement. Develops template OP’s which commensurate with risk level such that a fit-for-purpose procedure results, defining criteria for the content to be included. Tracks and monitors timely completion by way of an OP register and conducting regular progress meetings

  • Process Safety Information: Working closely with Plant Supervisors and Maintenance team, leads the governance of Plant Process Safety Information (PSI) to ensure the all such information is controlled, current and secure for appropriate use. Manages and maintains the PSI room and secure folders

Maintain Environment, Health and Safety System in Laboratory:

  • Updates inventory of hazardous chemicals in accordance with local laws. Reviews and maintains chemical safety information, such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for materials and products

  • Conducts regular Loss Prevention Observations (LPO) on reports and across functions

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree Quality Assurance, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry

  • Minimum 3 years of experience

  • Well versed in ISO accreditation

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry

Relocation Options:
