Chevron Corporation Senior Tax Advisor in Singapore, Singapore

The position will be part of the Singapore Tax Team to provide both tax compliance and advisory services to the Chevron Singapore group of companies. Our tax team partners our wide array of Singapore Oil & Gas businesses ranging from refining, fuels and lubricants marketing, chemical additives, trading, shipping, as well as business development origination and energy transition. The nature of the work is diverse but largely includes managing tax positions, leading tax dispute resolutions, as well as partnering the business on a variety of projects from early-stage opportunity framing to execution. To be successful, the candidate needs to be a highly self-motivated and seasoned team player with mastery of direct tax technical knowledge to coach others and has a results-oriented personality that allows the person to be both an accountable and credible tax partner in always delivering results the Chevron Way.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Ensure that statutory corporate tax compliance requirements and internal reporting obligations are met. This includes preparing/ filing the annual income tax returns, and monthly current tax and deferred tax provisions as well as ensuring SOX compliance.
Regularly track and monitor for tax incentives conditions compliance.
Manage the transfer pricing compliance risk by ensuring transfer pricing documentation is in place, including review of transfer pricing reports and highlight tax risk and provide solutions for new related party transactions.
Independently lead resolution of disputes or audits with tax authorities in partnership with internal stakeholders, global tax team and external consultants (as necessary).
Close collaboration with cross functional counterparts to develop a good understanding of various business models to enable agility in seeking out and identifying areas of potential risk and improvements, and recommend solutions to mitigate/ manage tax risk or achieve optimal tax outcome.
Develop, maintain, and manage relationships across internal and external stakeholders (including government/ statutory/ industry bodies).
Proactive partnership with business to independently prioritize timely tax insights and solutions on day-to-day business activities as well as supporting new projects/ initiatives to enable tax optimisation and value creation.
Keeping abreast of Singapore and international tax developments, and proactively working with the finance and global tax team in leading advance efforts to ensure that the entities/ businesses are ready to meet the complex demands for tax reporting, compliance and planning (e.g. BEPS 2.0, group restructuring).
Broader tax support across the international Downstream locations (particularly South Korea) as the need arises.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
Seasoned and passionate tax practitioner that has a mastery of Singapore direct tax technical knowledge accumulated through deep experience in a Big 4 and/or large MNC.
Confident individual with excellent written and oral communication skills who can tweak and deliver fit-for-purpose messaging to all levels and possesses strong interpersonal skills to partner a variety of stakeholders.
Independent self-starter and strong team player who takes ownership of initiatives and has resilience and growth mindset to manage the end-to-end solutioning in a fast-paced environment.
Relocation Options:

Selected candidate will work in Singapore under the local payroll system and benefits.
