Chevron Supply and Trading (S&T) provides a critical link between the market and Chevron's upstream, downstream and chemicals companies. We provide commercial support to our crude oil and natural gas production operations and to our refining and marketing network. We are headquartered in Houston, Texas, and have offices worldwide - including trading hubs in Houston, London, Singapore and San Ramon, California.

Gas Supply and Trading (GSAT) is responsible for marketing Upstream’s gas, LNG and LPG production as well as trading 3rd party volumes. With offices in Perth, Singapore, London, Houston and Calgary our global teams procure, transport, and market pipeline and seaborn gas products to maximize the value of Chevron’s Upstream production. We work in close collaboration with Chevron Shipping, Pipeline and Power and third parties to transport gas for internal and external customers around the world.

GSAT is tightly integrated with the internal Value Chain Optimization (VCO) organization and Upstream to capture opportunities across the entire well head-to-customer value chain. The team collects and leverages market intelligence to deliver incremental value and enhanced profitability through strategic arbitrage, storage and third-party trading, balancing the Chevron system and proactively managing changing gas & gas liquids flows to ensure flow assurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with all operational aspects related to the purchase and sale of Natural Gas Liquids.

  • Integral part of the trading desk, working closely with traders.

  • Working with equity terminals and 3rd parties managing all operational aspects, ensuring flow while minimizing operational risk's and costs.

  • Liaising with counterparts in other companies regarding documents and requirements for cargos.

  • Ensuring all aspects of contracts are adhered to from an operational standpoint.

  • Working with Chevron’s shipping department – vetting, chartering, voyage management and demurrage teams.

  • Appointing inspectors for quantity and quality, liaising with Chevron’s Loss Control department on any claims/issues.

  • Entering key cargo data into the trading systems.

  • Work closely with our internal support functions, including Back Office, Legal, and Credit, to coordinate the complete and timely execution of our LPG product and freight contracts

  • Receive and understand information on the Financing requirements (issuing bank, advising bank, L/Cs, open account etc.), working closely with others in the management of shipping documents for presentation under LCs and SBLCs as well as during the operations of the vessel loadings and discharge.

  • Liaising with finance department on any queries related to operational costs and revenues.

  • Identifying process improvements and commercial opportunities to maximize value of each cargo movement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Equivalent of a Bachelors Degree or above

  • 2 years + within an LPG operations capacity with experience/proven track record in LPG cargo operations along the entire physical supply chain

  • Excellent understanding of Incoterms 2010 and 2020

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail, accuracy of execution, and ability to manage deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and working knowledge of trading systems

  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to take the initiative and to work independently when necessary.

  • Comfortable with working on a trading floor and evolving business requirements while staying fully focused on daily tasks and targets

  • Fluent in English is required
